Problem Solved: Coal-Fired Power Plant

PROVEN EFFECTIVE, DRAMATICALLY REDUCING DUST, SPILLAGE AND CARRYBACK AT A COAL-FIRED POWER PLANT.

Problem/Results:

A coal-fired power plant had serious dust, spillage and carryback issues on one of its conveyors, which handles 3,811 tons per hour of bulk material. (belt width:2000mm[78”], belt speed:210m/min.)

Cleanup spillage required every 1 to 2 days, which created another potential risk. Management wanted to reduce the cleanup time by minimizing material loss from the load.

The solution has proven effective, dramatically reducing dust, spillage and carryback. The skirtboard sealing system is effectively preventing dust pollution without belt damage. In addition, belt cleaning system is significantly keeping the belt clean that reduced maintenance time for cleanup.

Solution:

The Jimway team visited the site and inspected of the conveyor. After a detailed survey and discussion with facility managers, we focused on providing the right transfer point solution that can prevent wasted labor and material loss. The technicians suggested installing as followed:

Transfer point products prevent material spillage and dust leakage

Skirtboard sealing system 36m

Impact bed x3

Belt cleaners remove of the carryback material

Primary belt cleaner x1

Secondary belt cleaner x1

V plow belt cleaner x1

Retractable frames easily and quickly change rollers

Retractable carrying idler x25

Self-training idlers prevent structure damage

Self-training carrying idler x6

Self-training return idler x11

Spiral return idler x2
